ok so i had some issues earlier getting everything up and running with the live CD to check and see if i was going to have issues will at first i had no screen and some other stuff that didnt work...
i just made this same exact thread earlier and found out you use text mode it will load up so you install and run it no ptoblems next time it might help to search

you have to do what they said here and edit your xorg.conf i had this same issue i could only log onto BT3 with midnight commander and edit it

go HERE and update slapt-get and update slapt-get to the newest version....
then goto /etc/slapt-get/ and edit your slapt-get.rc files sources to these

ok when i first installed BT|3 it came with pidgin installed but it didnt have certain protocols on it so i updated with gslapt you can do this by....
KMenu> System> Gslapt and search for pidgin...
i got it to work but its way to buggy not alot of programs work also it took like 2 hours to do had to re-format several times....
but it was sexy in some ways:D
