    Hi,

On #backtrack-linux I requested a 'new' tool (winlockpwn by Adam Boileau aka Metlstorm).
Pure-hate advised me to make a redmine request. I created an account but can't login with the newly...

Can you ping those hosts on IP?
    www.bing.com =

    Google =

    This is quite impossible :)
    Perhaps you mean 255.255.255.0?

Really nice and detailed paper further on, easy to read. Kudos :)

Re: How to verify Backtrack version?

check the /var/logs/messages file for clues or

    man uname
  10. Re: Metasploit : run bypassuac (Post/windows/escalate/bypassuac) fail.

Go to the #metasploit channel on Freenode or some other metasploit help. This is a backtrack forum, not metasploit.

Re: The best way to learn backtrack

Use this forum, use Youtube, consider taking the OffSec course if you're really into it and just play around with it a lot.

    Re: Running irc as non-root

If I recall correct, the command should be
    su - ircuser -c pidgin
But check if the ircuser has a valid home and the pidgin files are writable by just logging in as ircuser and startx/pidgin.

Re: What has happened to Metasploit???

@Archangel-Amael: The Redmine link seems empty, but the problem hasn't been fixed (for BT5-x86 KDE atleast not).
    What I've done:
Install BT5 KDE x86 from CD to HD (entire disk) using Install...

In that case, why don't you just go over the sysadmins head and just make an appointment with the CEO, via his secretary?

    Re: Wireshark does not load

Shouldn't this post be moved to the Howto section instead of bugs?
Since this isn't a backtrack issue really and you've made a howto.

    Re: Wireshark does not load

    Right, same here.
However, your manual currently gives a 404 on the wireshark download link, since they've updated the bz2 files to newer versions. You might want to change your manual from:
    wget...

Re: wordlist not working with aircrack-ng

Well that all depends on the processing power doesn't it?

Aircrack can only manage files with a max size of 2GB, so you need to split the file up into more smaller files.
    See my older post here:...

Re: wordlist not working with aircrack-ng

Try a 'less <filename>' to see if the wordlist actually contains words.
And perhaps the format of the file is corrupted, with ^M or such.
  24. Re: Someone has the AirSSL-Script running under BT5 ?

Ha! As if! Do you have any idea how hard it is to edit/modify a script! ;)
  25. Re: Someone has the AirSSL-Script running under BT5 ?

You should write the author instead of opening a tread here, since this has nothing to do with Backtrack itself.
