    I am running 4.1.8 pre R2 upgrade and did not have any issues. Gnome 64 bit version, I suspect snafu is correct and the upgrade to a newer version should help you out.

    Update Script and BT5 R1

    I run the (Sickness) backtrack update script daily.
    how do I tell if I have BT5R1 from updating ?

    I ran this and here are the results --
    :~# cat /etc/issue
    BackTrack 5 - Code Name Revolution 64...

    Thanks, I will take a look. I didnt think it needed sendmail, but now I do recall older version asking to start sendmail.
    Maybe I will need to set up a sniff to see where the data is going and how...

    I had issues in the beginning, but found drivers and a process that worked. I have the GTX450 in the ASUS G73

    On the Nvidia site they show a driver for 32bit and 64bit Linux for the GT520M...

    Maybe the same issue. . There are a couple methods of recovery. It is the grub loader that gets jacked when the kernel update happens

    To close the loop on this - Yes, the script is good, my Foo is bad...

    It is apparently a known issue with Ubuntu, one that I was hit with on BT 4. It was just the bad timing of everything....
