I type:iwconfig ath0 mode monitor

and it give me an error saying: Set failed on device...

I made the partition vfat with an ext2 partition for changes and copied over the files and ran the .bat file on an xp machine instead of my vista machine and it worked.

which rc script should I add these commands to so my card will connect to my network on boot????

I finally got everything working!!!! I even made a partition for changes and changed the syslinux config file to accept these changes when in persistant mode.

and yes since there is only one partition on the usb, the first partition should boot.
