I'm having a similar problem but I'm wondering if it's because I'm running BT4 thru Sun Virtualbox. airmon-ng is coming back empty. My lspci output is just what I've setup in the Sun Virtualbox...

My d/l of BT4 pre keeps breaking. Is there a list of mirrors I can try? maybe a d/l program that you recommend that can handle the disconnects since you don't want people to use torrents?
