I think one of the reasons SV choose the Ubuntu / XP-VM then BT2 is b/c if you have a rig powerful enough to handle a decent running VM why not .. xp is more stable than vista and BT2 was the stable...

You can
copy BT3 to the root of your pendrive
copy the contents of Boot to the root of your pendrive.
then if in windows run bootinst.bat let it do its thing.
reboot and enjoy. ;)
