When you typed lsusb was your card listed? If not i would try to use BT4, and yes it supports more drivers.

type lsusb make sure it sees your card listed (rtl8187)
type ifconfig wlan0 up
type airmon-ng start wifi0
type airmon-ng start wlan0
it should say something like monitor mode (mon0)
