    Just a quick update. I decided to compile my own grub2 bootloader and have managed to boot my backtrack 5 usb in uefi mode.

    Though when I do, grub tells me "error: no suitable video mode found....

    Okay, so I downloaded grub-1.99.tar.gz. Is that the right version of GRUB?

    Now, how do I open/compile it? I am really lost. I am not accustomed to the Linux file formats.
