    ok if you are running linux currently what you need to do is mount the iso (its a pretty easy / common thing you should know with linux)
    mkdir /mnt/disc/ && mount /root/Desktop/BT5-GNOME-32.iso...

    you say you have the iso on your hard disk are you running backtrack under a vm? or have you install it to your hard disk ?

    from the code you have listed there you are copying the cdrom files /cdrom/* meaning all to . which is the current directory that you changed to (mnt/sdb1) in your case

    Unless your using a USB card you can not access wifi, your actual hardware be it wifi or not is converted to a ethernet link when connected unless its usb wifi card take a look at a alfa there...
