If I remember correctly you have to go to WICD settings and there set it to use ra0 as wifi device, normally its wlan0.

You cant get ipods antennas to monitor mode, at least iPod touch 2 gen.

I recommend to use gerix wifi cracker at beginning, its quite easy to use.
