XXX=lsusb or lspci (find the adapter name and copy the ID)
open the "XXX.conf" with nano, pico, whatever..and change the network address to your "wanted"

I did have similiar problem with "sw12" & bcm
try clicking on the desired connectionpoint and hold "alt + c" for 20 seconds.. (chech this checkbox, close on connect)
yeah, torrent is a better solution :)
try going to
/etc/ndiswrapper/drivername/adapter_id.conf
where drivername = your driver name
and
adapter_id is your adapter id

tried using ultraiso for modifiyng iso images? ;)

maybe the "livecd" part doesn't support your "sata controler" or other hardware..
