ok well i didnt restore my computer just yet..I got some recovery tools and i found my files..Im not as stupid as you guys think lol i went trough the partitions and i found the NTFS file system...

i guess i just did things without thinking...i was only trying to install backtrack didnt know it would overwrite vista :/ oh well now to restore my computer :(

yea i got into root user and i saved the file successfully but now i restarted and its like nothing happened..i opened the file again and it still had the changes..i double checked for any errors but...
thankyou i got that part working...so now after that i restart and it should be working right?
I restarted and it did the same thing...booted right back into backtrack :/

I did what you said. It said "Error writing /boot/grub/grub.conf: Permission denied" when i tried to save it....??
I need help uninstalling backtrack 4. I installed it using ubiquity installer or something and it installed backtrack 4 now i cant boot into windows vista only backtrack, when i turn on my computer...
