Some people have luck with this right out of the box, others (like me) have nothing but trouble. Maybe there is an issue with firmware on the AWUS036H.

I'm glad that is working out for you? Has it been fully compatible with BT4?
What was the original card you were using? That would be great for comparison, maybe your old card just sucked :)

How are you running backtrack? (USB, DVD, Dual boot, etc)
The correct driver is supposedly installed in BT4. Are you reading instructions for BT4 or an earlier...

Get that wireless card name and check for compatibility with aircrack-ng.
I am not sure what you mean by "after you have your wireless card installed",
