hi man, don't even think so about it ,man if you said to them that they have a problem in thier wep then any thing will happen to their router they will say it is you , finnally it's up to you but...

chkrootkit may solve the solution as lupin said some processes may be hidden or melt in the memmory,also use a program active ports to see the connections that are running and the processes for this...

look man when this happen alot of reasons may be the cause,try again if you face the same problem that means the system is patched and the other way to exploit the system is to find another...
