    Re: Not very active here

Though I generally agree with this, I do not on this forum.

Without trying to sound like someone who knows more than I do (because as I stated before, I have a LOT to learn), it is clearly stated...

    Re: Not very active here

I agree with cgelici as far as the "help generic overused issue here doesn't work" threads getting old, especially in the Beginner section. As I am honestly a beginner and don't feel my issues...

Re: Man in the Middle Type Attack

Is there a point I'm missing in a DoS attack? It just seems to... "noisy". Just seems like the longer you could stay under the radar of an IDS/IPS system the more information you're able to gain as a...

    Re: need help using metasploit

scottm99 is right, try to avoid using the autopwn tools since these are very noisy and are not practical by any stretch of the word. Get as much information about the victim OS as you can before...
  8. Re: HELP: BT5 rs1 with AWU036H RTL8187L, install/patch r8187

I agree with Zimmaro. My ALFA AWUS036H works flawlessly on BT5 R1 without any additional installs. Try a fresh install and see what happens without trying to patch it.

    Re: No result "airodump-ng wlan0"

Type "airodump-ng mon0" that's the interface that is created for monitor mode within airmon-ng.

    Re: How to trigger Snort

I am not familiar with snort, but wouldn't a reverse payload work because the firewall isn't going to block a connection that an internal computer requests but the firewall would block a connection...

    Re: Wifizoo Software alternative?

I'm not familiar with WifiZoo but I just looked at a release for v1.3 and it sounds like the Aircrack-ng suite can do everything you're looking for.You have obviously been around for awhile though,...

    Re: I've been hacked.

It was stupid of me to ask you to look at that, you already said that your router doesn't have WPS on it. That's all that list was for, sorry about that. With that kind of a WPA2 key, I highly doubt...

Re: Online courses are they worth it?

@L21ZIFER These courses (the online ones anyways) are not expensive when you compare them to a college course. They maybe a little more, depending on where you go, they could be less. Then look at...

    Re: I've been hacked.

@marvin190 ok, that is just MAC filtering, and just MAC filtering is not good enough at all. Use the link that TAPE used in his post in his thread to make sure that your router is not exploitable...

    Re: I've been hacked.

@TAPE Thank you very much for the heads up and the link. Cisco released a firmware upgrade to disable WPS and patch the attack that I just upgraded to, but I'm still going to run a reaver attack...

WPS is in my router configuration as an option over setting the passwords and encryption manually. I have a Linksys E4200.

Re: Online courses are they worth it?

@scottm99 There shouldn't be a problem with keeping your name, you get a generic one to start and then you can change it. I'm surprised you haven't heard from them though. Did you use a non-free...

    Re: I've been hacked.

Having WPS is NOT a good thing. That is what is exploitable on WPA/2 routers without having to bruteforce the password. I am not familiar with access lists on a home wireless router though. Is that a...
  19. Re: Backtrack 5 Distribution upgrade from R1 to R2 leads to display problems

    Re: BT5-RC2 issues!

I also have the graphical issue after the upgrade, except the i915.modeset=1 in grub doesn't fix it anymore (it worked in BT5, R1 worked right away though). I get an X window, but it's in 1024x768...
