I too have had this issue backtrack 3 in vesa mode worked but now there is no vesa option in backtrack 4 thus the reason my screen keeps spitting back that there is no xorg configured

Hi, there I've had this same issue running backtrack 4 R2. Previously i had ran backtrack 3 and all went well.
When i went to run the live dvd of 4 on my HP Pavilion dv7t laptop, the grub loads...
