The only real way to 'hide' a partition or os from being detected is not to have it there. I have bt3 with changes on a 4gig usb flash drive that plugs into the front of one of my windows boxes....
Are you trying to connect to a network for internet access, or looking for a network to monitor?

I have the same card and have had issues with the same error while trying to switch to monitor mode. I suggest you take a look at ez-pawn:

initially i just copied everything out of the folder to another usb stick to copy back over later, but that didn't work, so i deleted the folder itself and still no dice.

So I've discovered that
#useradd
adds new user info, but does little more than allow you to switch to that user in console. The password is not recognized at login.
#adduser
