At the time I was conducting 802.11 audits requiring that I be able to validate both spectrums. I also needed to be able to scan all channels. Which, as I recall, the 51NH supported. Had to set the...
Well that didn't work for me. Working on it.
@Eltanin Are you still having difficulty?
I am partial to the 51NH because it does both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz in all bands a/b/g/n. This is important to me. If you only need 2.4Ghz, maybe the 36NH would work for you. If you don't need n then maybe...
I get the RT2870/3070 on both devices I have.
It certainly works for BT5 KDE 32 bit. I have used it extensivly. I could not get 64 bit BT5 to work at all so did not test that.
I can also say that the AWUS051NH does work, with injection, out...
VMWare Workstation 7 on a Windows 7 box seems to have broken the AWUS051NH for BT5 R1. Haven't done much but a basic install and kill the dhcp process that airmon says is running on the dev. This is...
You will also need to understand channel bonding configurations for your AP/router. If you want to force 11n, turn off everything else and see what happens, then work backwards. Do some real research...
Again, sorry for the late reply. I bought the AWUS051NH because it supports both 2.4 and 5GHz. I needed it for my windows box and was blessed with it also working very well in a straight HDD install...
Sorry for the late reply. Yes. I have two and they rock.
I don't know about any of those, I have two of the Alfa AWUS051NH and they work great.

Look over in the BT5 fixes forum. Seems to be some success with this very problem
I had a similar issue with BT 64 bit on my Dell Lattitude with an NVIDIA NVS 140m. The 32 bit version is working great. I would start there. Unless of course there is a particular need for 64 bit. I...
The 2000mw adapter is the AWUS036NH. It only operates in 2.4GHz. The 51NH operates in both 2.4 and 5GHz.
As for power requirements. I have heard but not verified that the 2000mw is somewhat...
Alfa AWUS051NH, works, injection works
BT5_KDE_32
All appears well
wireless:
Intel 4965 (internal), works, injection works
Alfa AWUS051NH, works, injection works
X works
Um. Works now... BT4 R2

Slightly odd behavior in VMWare. The Alfa usb devices transfer from the host to the guest and work... for a while (I am using kismet). Then data just stops showing up. Restart kismit and nothing....
I concur with DeeSNutz. I have two of the AWUS051NH devices. They work great. I have tested in both a standard install and a VMWorkstation 7 install of BT R2.

have you set the preferences in wicd to work with your wifi interface?
Umm, ... wow ... spaces between commands and arguments help. Not sure why you have two f's in the tar command. Did you take the advice the command offered? 'tar --help' or 'tar --usage'. Cool stuff...
So now it just drops me periodically. Hmmm.

Well, interesting. By doing something which would normally be regarded as "stupid", that is, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, it finally worked. After...
BT4 R2 on a Dell Latitude D830 with Intel 4965 AGN
OK, I have the same problem. I have the SSID but it is "hidden" or as noted above, the AP is configured to not broadcast the SSID. In wicd-gtk I...
Have you read section 9.4.1 of the VirtualBox User Manual. It talks about setting custom VESA resolutions. Not sure if that will help, but you never know.
