Sickness - Password Sniffing Reloaded.

Here is some basic password sniffing using Ettercap.

@sickness, have you taken a look into g0tm1lk's tutorial on SSL/HTTPS sniffing? It's on the old forums, you might learn something.

Someone should confirm that all of g0tm1lk's tutorial works on bt4 final and move it over here ;)

I'll maybe confirm that tonight if no one else wants to and then we could move it over? I remember it being a well made video.

Yes, it works ok. But maybe you should ask his permission before posting anything.

Or better yet learn how it works and make your own video to submit. I had learned a lot by manually arp poisoning my network without ettercap and you should look into how sslstrip works.

I really don't recommend learning ettercap for mitm until you understand the concepts and procedures. Once you fully understand the concepts then you can take the easy route and use ettercap.

my thoughts exactly

I've messed around with ettercap quite a bit and understand how it implements most** of its tools. I just thought that g0tm1lk's video was innovative and taught me some new ways to use tools like ettercap in conjunction with tools like sslstrip. I don't think there's any reason to make a new video that's similar to g0tm1lk's when his was so nicely done.

I was simply suggesting that perhaps one of the mods could move the video over for new users to get some ideas on how to use tools like ettercap. It's best to understand how things work, but its fun to see the possibilities you can create once you have mastered the basics.

We would encourage our members to make a new video if possible. Most of us (mods' admins et al) do not have the time to verify each and every video/tutorial to be compatible and then make a new thread here on it.
I have been in the process of transferring some content over but it is time consuming and I have gotten a bit behind on the matter.
If any one looks at the content on the old forums and will verify that it works and would like to see a thread here on the subject then feel free to either make one or PM me and I can post it.
