USB WiFi Card RTL8191SU Wont work airmon-ng shows nothing

Hello, i have Backtrack 5 r2 Kde 64 Bit on Vmware workstation with Vmware Tools installed.

i am using a RTL8191SU USB

Now i was decided to test my one network password.. But when i did type:

i did look on the internet for a week but i didn't found anything..

yes i did connect (Disconnect from host)

There is a driver to your chipset in realtek web page, although it is not known if driver support native monitor mode and injection.

As sickness informed you, you might want to take a look at the aircrack-ng site and see if there is any "patch" for the driver and for kernel >=3.0.x.

I'll give you an advice: If you want something that work "out of the box" use usb devices. Search wiki and forums for compatibility.

What is your setup in vmware...
If you have your usb wifi installed on your host os the virtual machine might be seeing it as a wired connection. Do you connect it before you load the vm or after?
You may want to disable uninstall the drivers in the host.

do you check the usb wifi connected or not? try lsusb first

He may or may not have fixed the issue, I however have not. I am having the same problem, a RTL8191SU chipset. Some had a similar issue with the RTL8192SU chipset, which actually uses the same module, r8712u. However, despite following the instructions found here the same does not seem to work for the RTL8191SU chipset.

I should also mention, while Realtek does have a driver on their website for Unix/Linux, it seems to be compatible up to the 3.0.2 Linux kernel, when attempting a make command on the driver, it errors out, I am not good enough with scripting to figure out why, yet.
