Radeon HD 7770 on BT 5R3 Help.
Hey everyone and thanks in advance.
I am attempting to install the 32 bit version of BT 5R3 on an XPS 8500 with a radeon HD 7770 graphics card. It installs fine, boots up and everything. The issue is when i try and install the driver from ATI's website so i can utilize pyrit and such.. After installation, i get a black screen.
lspci -nn | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc Device [1002:683d]
Any help is appreciated.
I did search the forums , but it doesn't seem that anyone else has used a 7770 before.

Re: Radeon HD 7770 on BT 5R3 Help.
if you are using propietary driver, you must first uninstall radeon driver (if aplicable), and blacklist it. Then disable KMS and then install propietary driver. As far as I know, ATI drivers are not compatible with KMS (Kernem Mode Setting, this means modeset=0, or nomodeset).
It's very important to forget a little bit about the Windows world..Just forget it and keep in mind that you are in linux world, nothing here is automatic or taken for granted. If you are to install a driver of any device, you need to unsinstall the driver used at the moment.
Luck.
