Atheros AR9285 driver instalation problem on Back Track 5 r3
Hello, I am new on this forum and new with linux.
I have Atheros 9285 and when i type airodump-ng wlan0 got message:
ioctl (SIOCSIWMODE) failed: Device or resource busy...
it worked during the last two days bust suddenly stopped, i don't know why?
I downloaded new compat-wireless-3.6.8-1.tar.bz2 but i don't know how to install it.
I tried to fallow this instructions but it didn't work.
Building and installing
cd /path/to/compat-wireless-2.6.32-rc5
./scripts/driver-select <driver-name>
make
sudo make install
Can anyone tell me step by step, word by word what should i type in terminal, please? Is is only one command in one row? Instead of driver name i tried compat-wireless-3.6.8-1. and many combinations but didn't work. What is the driver name. I have never installed anything in linux.
Thanx,

I strongly suggest you to learn linux basics and then come back..
Please, do not use "step by step", "word by word", "tel me exactly how to", or things like that..You must understand that the "Beginners section" is for those people who have never used BT5 and not for those who have never used linux.
Luck.

I am trying to learn linux basics, that's why I asked you to help me with installing a program. I thought that this forum is place where other people helps to beginners how to do something? So, will someone help me or this forum is wrong place for that?
