Get 'bad password' ERROR whenever connecting to HIDDEN WPA??
Yeah, I find this pretty strange, I try toggling between both preshared key and 1/2, still doesn't work. I don't know whats wrong? I can connect to the hidden WPA network perfectly fine on my PC, but for some reason, this thing thinks that I have a bad password. I am very frustrated with this.
Does anyone know what to do?

Can you connect if the AP is broadcasting the SSID ? Also what version of Backtrack are you running and what wireless card (including chipset).
Re: Get 'bad password' ERROR whenever connecting to HIDDEN WPA??
That did not fix my problem.
Whenever I entered in the BSSID, I just got the error, "Cannot display any networks"
I have Ratlink, AWUSO36H.
'Connection Failed: Bad password' if wifi AP's ESSID is hidden
Same here.
I can connect if the AP is broadcasting it's ESSID, tho.
I'm using BackTrack 5 R3 GNOME 32 bit and I've got an Asus Eee PC 1201N.
The wireless card and chipset specs might or not have something to do with this (sorry)
NVIDIA® ION™ Graphics
WLAN 802.11 b/g/n@2.4GHz
NVIDIA MCP79 Chipset (part of the ION platform)
Realtek RTL8191SE B/G/N ASIC (found in the 1201N-PU17-BK)
Attansic Atheros AR8132 / L1c Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
Thanks in advance for any help.
Re: Get 'bad password' ERROR whenever connecting to HIDDEN WPA??
Are you using VM? Live DVD? HDD install? USB?...
I strongly suggest to use live DVD to see if wpa-wpa2 "bad password" error still shows. Also please post wpa-suplicant file.
Again, you might want to try live DVD..Not USB, not VM, not HDD, just live DVD.
Re: Get 'bad password' ERROR whenever connecting to HIDDEN WPA??
Im Running HD install of BT5 R3 KDE on a Toshiba Satalite proA300d
Alfa AWUS036NH \ RTL8187
I tried this on CD, USB and HDD install of the above version.
Followed N000b's instructions Sickness re-posted http://www.backtrack-linux.org/forum...read.php?t=700 and it worked first time.
Just had to open and close the WICD and re-fresh a couple of times.
