Intel Integrated Graphics - Resolution Issue
Hi,
I'm currently running BT5 R2 x64 Gnome on my Lenovo G570.
The resolution and screen quality isn't great so I thought I'd update the graphics drivers.
I've followed a few guides etc. and nothing has enabled me to change the resolution.
Here is the results of lspci | grep VGA
Code:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
I've also added the below to my Grub file.
Code:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i915.modeset=1"
I've ran apt-get auto-remove intel-video..... etc. etc. and re-added.
Any help would be appreciated. I'd say I'm competent with Linux but I'm no pro :)
Thanks in advanced.
Al
Re: Intel Integrated Graphics - Resolution Issue
I've also noticed that on boot if I switch back to tty1 there is an error after I run startx that says
Code:
(EE) Failed to load module "intel" (module requirement mismatch, 0)
Thanks,
Al

Re: Intel Integrated Graphics - Resolution Issue
Hi~
I used to have the exact same problem a while back (unable to set a higher screen resolution to 1366x768) and dual graphics the intel and radeon.
I followed this guide:
http://www.backtrack-linux.org/forum...ad.php?t=48904
And it worked perfectly (for setting the screen resolution) at the moment, ATI doesn't have a way for dual graphics as far as I know.
I hope that helps ^^
