AWUS036NHR - injection working BT5 r2
i'm pretty new at all of this, so pardon my ignorance...and i dunno if anybody else has a fix for this but from what i've read this adapter/chipset is not supporting injection, but if you just download the windows drivers and run them though wine it works flawlessly...hope this helps someone.
Re: AWUS036NHR - injection working BT5 r2
Tried this. Got a popup during the install asking me to insert my adapter. Never resolved after inserting the adapter. Rebooted the computer with the adapter already inserted, and still didn't recognize it. I'm wondering if the USB drivers on my backtrack install aren't borked. Seriously, though, this makes too much sense to work. I'll keep you posted if there is any resolution.
on a side note, is there a command to list all usb devices connected?
Update: Figured out what I was looking for. lsusb
lsusb shows the device, and lsusb -vvv looks fine compared to some similar logs i've run across online. That being said, it's still not creating an interface.
Did figure out that my processor is x64 though, so I'm going to try reinstalling bt.
Re: AWUS036NHR - injection working BT5 r2
Installed 5r2 x64. Card came up no problem, injection/mon mode working, out of the box. I guess because the architecture was wrong it didn't want to work. One thing I did notice, though, it doesn't list in ifconfig, but if I ifconfig wlan1, it shows up. It's running on the module for rtl8192cu for future refference.
