Wireless card rtl8191SEvB and Backtrack 5 : Enable packet injection
Greetings.
The mentioned wireless device inside a toshiba laptop does not work completely with backtrack 5, 32 bit.
It does not support packet injection . I googled and read about that , seems as if there could exist a developed driver ( a "slow" one ).
What about other opinions?
Does anyone know, how to enable injection for this device "relatively easy" ?
If not : Is anyone interested in developing a driver to enable this ?
( By the way : Are there any restrictions / must-do`s in order to help developing such a driver ?
I would try to develop one, anyone else ?)
Any response would be very nice.
Best regards

Re: Wireless card rtl8191SEvB and Backtrack 5 : Enable packet injection
HI all. I tried Backtrack 5 R1 64 and 32 bits, gnome as well as kde...but my RTL8191SEvB Wireless LAN Controller did not inject packets, so I had to buy a usb dongle to work with aircrack-ng. Yesterday, as I upgraded to Backtrack 5 R2, I wanted to test the RTL8191vB again. I was surprised to find that it could inject packets! Yes, it does. I tried it with two APs (wpa encrypted) and I could get the keys. I did not patch or download anything specific. I just update regularly. I googled and found no thread relating to this fact (that RTL8191SEvB works with aircrack-ng). I hope this can help someone.
