BT5 R1 hangs at Red Splash Screen while booting - Unable to install it
As the title says, I am unable to boot into BT5 R1. As soon as I select Default or Default with Text Mode, the system hangs at the following screen. Please see the screenshot below:

After this nothing happens.
My Laptop Configuration
Laptop: Dell XPS 17
Graphic Card: NVidia GT 555M
Processor: Intel Core i7 -2670QM
I wanted to Dual Boot Win 7 with BackTrack 5 R1 and met with this problem while booting BT5 R1 Gnome 64-bit Edition. Please suggest me what to do next...Thank you :)

Well, my first suggestion is to check the hardware compatibility list forum and see if your hardware is noted there. Also, have you tried other flavors of BackTrack? Have you verified the MD5 hash of your download?
Re: BT5 R1 hangs at Red Splash Screen while booting - Unable to install it
Hey I had a similar issue but the message I had related to not viewing a live operating system from the USB. Point is - if you are loading from a USB stick - try a different USB port - I believe my USB 3.0 would not work but the USB 2.0 worked perfectly. Found that tip on another FAQ section of the BT site....good luck.
