Unstable connection with RockLand N3
Hi everyone,
I've made A LOT of tests using the Rockland n3 last few weeks and I keep getting strange behaviors.
I'm running backtrack 5 R1 x64 Gnome in Parallels (OSX)
Here are the loaded drivers
rt2800usb 15023 0
rt2800lib 45355 1 rt2800usb
rt2x00usb 11375 1 rt2800usb
rt2x00lib 40782 3 rt2800usb,rt2800lib,rt2x00usb
mac80211 494508 3 rt2800lib,rt2x00usb,rt2x00lib
fg80211 193471 2 rt2x00lib,mac80211
rfkill 18476 1 cfg80211
ompat 7088 1 mac80211
I've tried blacklisting some of them because I was not sure rt2800 and rt2x00 had to be loaded
together. It did not work.
Most of the time I get this message in the logs: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan1: link is not ready
I've not noticed significant problem when using the aircrack suite, it's more when I'm just
connecting to a network (even with great signal) that the connection is slow and keep getting
slower. Most of the time plugging the usb card out and back in solves the issue for the next
15 min.
I've also tried recompiling the drivers like explain in the FAQ.
(As a side note is there a way to get back to the original drivers installed by Backtrack ?)
I've read a lot of topic regarding the ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP) issue. People seems to have this
kind of problem with the AWUS036H and AWUS036NH but I did not find a solution. I'm writing here
because I ran out of options :-/
Re: Instable connection with RockLand N3
Giving up regarding my drivers investigation I've started to look for the cause of my problems in Wicd which I've always found quite capricious.
I've installed networkmanager and nm-applet and right now the connection seems much faster than before.
Wait and see.
