Problem with VLC !!!

I use BT 5 R1 KDE . I setup VLC but i can't open it and Kmix . Please help me fix it !!!

BackTrack is a pentesting distribution it's not a multimedia one neither a facebook/twitter one therefor it lacks some functionalities that the regular Linux distribution as Ubuntu has.

hmmm/...... forget my first post here i have done some wrongs... so.... this should will help u 100% with ur prob...
firts off u should install vlc completely! and go to /usr/bin and search for file called vlc!
when u will find it u should open it with an hex editor and find in file for "geteuid._libc_start_main" without quotes!
when u find it change it to "getppid._libc_start_main" without quotes!
and ur totaly done! i hope this should solve ur problem with VLC Media player!! p.s sorry for my bad english!

mplayer is good...i like it too...but for my experience too VLC is the best!
