Sorry for the confusion, I was talking about smartphones.
Even Android 2.2(Froyo) could support usb host if you can make the driver work:

Android 3.1(Honeycomb) got official usb host support, but this andriod version is used only on tablets, hence I didn't considered it.

Android 4.0(ICS) brings official usb host support and can be used in smartphones too.

Actually it is available for current android phones as well, at least the Samsung Galaxy SII supports USB host. Don't know if it's by tweaking it or if it's supported out of the box, but usb host is possible.
btw, I got the n900 and it even supports injection with the built in nic which I did not know ! I thought I had to hook up an external adapter...
Yea, my Atrix has host mode, I've used it with a usb ethernet adapter and thumb drive.
Does anyone has clue about the status of neopwn project ? THe page reads coming soon .

The latest power kernel of N900 supports packet injection. I am yet to test this
