JTR Customised Cracking Methodolgy
hi peeps!,
i'm attempting to crack a WPA hash inside a .cap capture file with a valid handshake.
Now I would like to run JTR such that it consumes a dictionary file and changes the last 2 alphabets of each dictionary words.
example is of follows:
dictionary (take note the last 2 char of the string below):
hahahaha
hahahaaa
hahahaab
hahahaac
hahahahd
In summary, how do you customise jtr such that it will use a dictionary attack such that the words contained in the dictionary are customised as all the words inside the dictioanry file has the last 2 alphabets in their words randomised?. I have tried --incremental:all for 70 hours with no results :(
thanks for any help guys!
best regards,
mr wtf (!@$!@#$%R@#)

If it's your AP than you must know the password.
So use crunch and create your own wordlist that will include your real password.
Re: JTR Customised Cracking Methodolgy
Erm. i'm actually in the process of performing ethical hacking on a custom set up AP in my school. My teacher told us to use this customised form of JTR brute force. But didnt managed to find any other resources other than using the --incremental:all.
hence, is there anyway to perform such an attack? or it is not possible at all?
I do read up somewhere this is some sort of a mask attack using john the ripper (JTR)
Re: JTR Customised Cracking Methodolgy
If this is an "ethical hacking" course than your teacher should have thought you how to deal with this and in any case he's the one you should be seeking advice from.
