All my Macs have useless Broadcomm cards. Are you sure you have an Intel? Good news if you do - it's a great card. Perhaps you're referring to a USB wireless card (which is necessary to use monitor mode in a VM)? More details required.

so i figured out that i need an external wireless card to get things to work. i ordered it from amazon, sadly it will take 2 weeks to get here but when it does i will let ya'll know if that is the problem and how it works.
I tried what was mentioned, but when I run the command make I get a ton of errors such as:
crypto.h:12:26: error: openssl/hmac.h: no such file or directory
crypto.h:12:26: error: openssl/sha.h:no such file or directory
crypto.h:12:26: error: openssl/rc4.h: no such file or directory
crypto.h:12:26: error: openssl/aes.h: no such file or directory
sha1-sse2.h:140: error: implicit declaration of function 'HMAC'
sha1-sse2.h:140: error: implicit declaration of function 'EVP_sha1'
aircrack-ng.c:3934: error: implicit declaration of function 'EVP_md5'
Can anyone give me some advice? I've been struggling now for about a month trying to get Backtrack to work. I thought this would be easy, I graduated from JCAC at Corry and wanted to practice using this...but my GOD! I can't do any simple commands, nothing shows up for me either (airmon-ng) to use for injection.
I have a MAC OSX
Using VirtualBox for Backtrack5
I bought a DWA-131 Dlink wireless usb adapter and noticed this guy said it worked for him...I tried this and can't get the commands "make" to work for me :(
First need to install the ssl development libraries (libssl-dev) and then compile package with those libraries.
Remember that you compile with "make", and install compiled package with "make install"
The DWA-131 uses a Realtek driver, so I'm not sure there's much point struggling to install an Intel.
And what on earth made you think anything to do with Backtrack would be easy?? ;)
hi guys,
i have installed backtrack 5 on my virtual box but i dont get any result when i run the airmon-ng and the iwconfig command return 0 wlan0 result. please help.
i tried reinstalling the complete aircrack-ng-1.1 package but that didnt help
i have a intelHM76 chipset. please help or redirect to apprpriate thread that you know
I also have a problem here.
No Interface, chipset or driver show up.
I tried using Reaver's solution, I copied the directory to my USB (i am running from a USB) because my Internet isn't working when I boot BT.
The response from the terminal to the command "tar -xf aircrack-ng-1.1.tar.gz is:
tar: aircrack-ng-1.1.tar.gz: cannot open: No such file or directory
Any help would be welcome. Thanks ahead
