Wep Cracking a little problems with channels
today, when i use bt5 to cracking my adsl modem key a problem appeared.
my laptop wireless card is : intel wifi 5100 and detected automatically.
1: airmon-ng start wlan0
2: airodump-ng --encrypt wep mon0
mon0 is monitoring mode.
3: airodump -c 1 -w alireza -bssid [bssid adsl modem] mon0
4: aireplay-ng -1 0 -a F4:3E:61:20:F7:E8 mon0
No source MAC (-h) specified. Using the device MAC (00:16:EA:AB:99:DA)
14:05:13 Waiting for beacon frame (BSSID: F4:3E:61:20:F7:E8) on channel 8
14:05:13 mon0 is on channel 8, but the AP uses channel 1
aireplay-ng -0 1 -a F4:3E:61:20:F7:E8 -c 00:16:EA:AB:99:DA mon0
even with MAC address... but:
14:09:51 Waiting for beacon frame (BSSID: F4:3E:61:20:F7:E8) on channel 11
14:09:52 mon0 is on channel 11, but the AP uses channel 1
what is the problem? how can i associated successfully?
need your help . thanks.
Re: Wep Cracking a little problems with channels
Mine recently stopped doing this. I don't know why it ever does this because you tell it what channel to use, but if you notice when you enter the previous command repeatedly then it will say "mon0 is on channel X, but the AP uses channel 1". It's because if you look at airodump-ng while it's running mon0 is scanning through the channels. If you enter the same command enough then you'll eventually get lucky and mon0 will be on the right channel when the command is processed. I just checked again and mine isn't scanning anymore, it stays on the channel.
