full HD installation space?
Have been trying to find out how much space is taken up with a full featured install. I've got an opportunity to purchase a netbook on the very very very cheap but its only got an 8GB SSD. I do not plan on dual booting (prob obvious from the HD size) and so I'm trying to figure out how much available space I will have left over after a clean install of BT5.
Thanks!

Re: full HD installation space?
I don't believe 8 GB will be enough. I've got BT5 32-bit gnome running in a 20 GB virtual machine. I did a df, and I'm showing 40% disk in use on filesystem /dev/sda1. If my math is right, that equals 8 GB...right at your SSD capacity. My BT5 install is pretty vanilla (nothing extra on there). I'd say you need a minimum of 10 GB to account for swap space, updates, etc.
Re: full HD installation space?
i added very few things (compared to what I usually install) to bt5r1 hd install, and show 11gb used without even factoring in swap in Gparted.
it may run ok...but won't be enough space to add anything to it where it would be a "comfortable" install, or even perhaps bare bones comfortable.
price out a replacement SSD with larger capacity. if you are getting that good of a deal it still may be worth the investment
