Re: Nvidia Optimus problem
There is not much we can do about optimus and drivers until (and if) nvidia releases drivers for linux. As of this time it appears they may never do so.
You can however use the onboard intel chipset and whatever drivers it needs. It's not the best, but not much else we can do.
I sent a couple of machines back that had the optimus technology just because of the lack of driver support.
Re: Nvidia Optimus problem
Well, thanks a lot for your replying.. I was afraid ill hear something like that. But as for intels vga i am not actually using it because i am running BT5 at 1024 x 720 resolution. And i tried many many things and googled everything i could think but didnt manage anything.
If someone could help me at least to fix the resolution problem i would be really happy :D. ( if that helps, when im booting BT5 live the resolution is 1366, but if i install them on HDD its 1024 and i cant find a way to fix that)
Re: Nvidia Optimus problem
I had issues in the beginning, but found drivers and a process that worked. I have the GTX450 in the ASUS G73
On the Nvidia site they show a driver for 32bit and 64bit Linux for the GT520M
http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-d...07-driver.html
Version: 275.09.07 Certified
Release Date: 2011.06.14
Operating System: Linux 64-bit
Language: English (U.S.)
File Size: 49.2 MB
Sorry if I am looking at the wrong one , just passing along what I fond.
Cheers
Re: Nvidia Optimus problem

Re: Nvidia Optimus problem
Yeah you need to remove your xorg.conf. Just type " rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf " and then startx.
Anyone could suggest how we could use BT5 as main OS installed on HDD and use full resolution and not 1024...
Re: Nvidia Optimus problem
Have you install your NVIDIA driver??
Re: Nvidia Optimus problem
Did you read my first post ? :P
Its Optimus technology and there is no drivers for linux.. just the simple ones which leads to no screens found error..
