Realtek wireless problems
Hi,
I'm trying to run BT5 on a laptop with an internal Realtek RTL8192E wireless card. The drivers appear to be loading ok (appears as wlan0 and doesn't produce any errors when I try to set it up with iwconfig), but the card doesn't appear to be communicating over the air.
No networks are visible either from the gui or when I run iwlist scan.
The only time it's worked is once when I've run iwlist scan straight after booting and it's produced a list of access points as expected, although I haven't been able to reproduce this.
Has anyone else had this problem or got any ideas on how to fix it?
Re: Realtek wireless problems
Hello, I'm new and definitely not an authority on this. But believe I heard or read that onboard/internal wireless cards are not officially supported in backtrack5, really only USB dongles with common chips are. But I could easily be dead wrong. It's not in the Wiki as supported though. So that should at least tell you something.
