Mouse issue

Hello,
I searched around google and on the forums here but i haven't seen anything, I am use vmware machine to run the 32 bit live disk and randomly my mouse will go to where its currently point but actually clicking half way across the screen.(in other words when i click a window as that is where the mouse cursor is displayed but it actually clicks up and over across the screen. The only way it seems to fix is to restart the system but happens again if i move outside of the machine to my desktop and back.

Installing the vmware tools often helps with mouse related problems. That may be a good place to start.
