BackTrack 5 won't install, it freezes in the installation process
I downloaded BackTrack5 through a torrent. I checked the md5 hashes after it finished and it matches the number on the site. I downloaded the ISO BackTrack5 Gnome 32 bit. Everything works fine up to the point that I am installing it. I go into the back track GUI using startx, I click on the icon in the upper lefthand corner to install backtrack. I go through the installation process and get to 99% in the progress bar. It then just sits there and won't finish installing. I waited an entire hour and it just sits there at the 99% mark. I've tried multiple times to install it. Can someone tell me what is wrong?
Re : BackTrack 5 won't install, it freezes in the installation process
you have to wait a while!! 20mins or less when he is in 99% it'll install backtrack tools after installing the kernel and basic UBUNTU applications. So you have just to wait.

Hi smille!
I encountered this same problem when I was installing BT5 - inside VirtualBox though.
I tried several times, just as you have, and then I got tired of it. So, I started the installation, then left the computer over night. In the morning, the installation was done.
My conclusion is it doesn't FREEZE, it just takes a lot of time for some reason...
Just start the installation, go and do something else for a few hours and you SHOULD be good to go. If not, just keep waiting. It'll be done with the installation in due time.
Good luck!

it's at 99% Almost finished copying files for me too in VirtualBox
I wonder why the delay and how long will it actually take to complete the installation
