BT5 live and HWU8DD issues

Hello all,

I am a newcomer to BT5 and would like to get started with some basic internal auditing using the tool. I am currently having issues getting the HWU8DD to work out of the box with BT5. I hope I am just missing something simple. I have followed some guides I Googled about installing new drivers for zd1211 but no luck so far.

When I plug in the modem I get the following error

I figured I should install wireless drivers so I did the following:

aptitude install wireless-tools zd1211-firmware

I still can't seem to get the adapter to work, am I making an obvious mistake? I have attached a screenshot of ifconfig:
