Re: BT5 gnome 32bit startx error
try to change to on your
Code:
/boot/grub/grub.cfg
Re: BT5 gnome 32bit startx error
Hi,
edit the following line in /etc/default/grub like this
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=""
save the file and run update-grub
restart your machine.
**** you can try a one time test by pressing 'e' at grub menu on boot (while the relevant OS is highlighted)
remove all parameters after ro so that the line will look something like this:
linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.## root=UUID=#######-#####-###-### ro
and press ctrl+x to continue the boot process.
jeki silman.
Re: BT5 gnome 32bit startx error
I had what sounds like the same problem. I did a proper writeup, but briefly what worked for me was to delete "nomodeset" from the kernel commandline in /etc/grub/grub.cfg . Does that work?
Re: BT5 gnome 32bit startx error
how bizarre.. i originally did what bluemedia said to do. didnt work. so i reinstalled out of frustration. same problem. however.. recently i find that i only have this problem when i boot up warm. like.. bt suddenly decides its going to boot up fine from cold boot. but if i just restart the machine without powering down i get the error. im semi-satisfied with this even though its kinda retarded. just installed nvidia drivers. bout to reboot. jekisilman, i jotted down your instructions. im sure ill have the opportunity to implement them soon. thank you :) ill report back if im still having problems.
