[Question] Nessus and Connection handle
H'all people from BT Forum,
I'm kinda new here, but I'm no too newbie in BT and Linux (General).
The point is: Nessus, when started, displays an message: 'The daemon shut down the communication'. Tried to re-install it but no love. Login out and re-login (rebooting too) seems to have no effect.
After this message, if I try to start a scan, it says:
Connection ended by the SIGPIPE server
and
Nessus had returned an empty report.
Nothing more.
Another strange thing is that my connection sometimes goes down, restarting the service seems to correct, anyway this is not happening anymore (I didn't really try anything to fix it) but I'd like to know what was resulting in this difficulties to handle the connection.
Thanks in advance,
Care.
Re: [Question] Nessus and Connection handle
We do not support Nessus in BackTrack due to licensing issues. But someone may be able to provide more info.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark at this
have you used the command line and registered the key that you got by putting in your email?
i have just installed nessus into bt4 r2 and it seems to be working fine for me.
also you may want to try asking in the forums dedicated to nessus

Re: [Question] Nessus and Connection handle
Thanks a lot for the answer!
It's installed and set up correctly, as the official Nessus Documentation say me to do.
It's registred too.
Thanks again.
