Help with AWUS036H Installation
Hello All,
I have researched the Forums on the AWUS036H product and cannot find a detailed procedure on the installation of the AWUS036H product.
Some items refer to using pccardctl and scanpci in installing, I cannot even find the scanpci file to run! One item claims this the AWUS036H is "plug and play".
My hardware:
Dell Mini 9 Inspiron 910
My Broadcom 4312 pci wireless card is working fine, but I want a greater range with the AWUS036H product.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!
Re: Help with AWUS036H Installation
Backtrack 4 has all the drivers required for the AWUS036H to work, you don't need to install any.

Hello,
...
and on BT3? Ich have rtl8187_linux_26.1025.0328.2007 from the ALFA Network Cd!
I try to configure the wpa_supplicant.conf but it doesn't work....
Re: Help with AWUS036H Installation
sickness,
Thank you for your response.
Doesn't the Broadcom 4312 driver need to be "removed"?
If so, what's the procedure?
If not, how does one "make" the AWUS036H the primary wireless card?
Thanks!

You plug it in and it should be recognized, are you running BT in a virtual environment ? Does it get detected on lsusb ?

Tried it today on a brand new installation of BT4 R2 and an Alfa036H.
It's been working flawless. Just plug in the adapter.
Run lsusb and it should show one entry in the list for an Realtek device. That's the Alfa.
