ERROR in installing my nvidia driver

Hi guys :) hope u r gd,,,,am having a problem so any idea please help
after updating my btr1 to btr2 i had a problem with my nvidia card so i cannot adjust resolution and some of colors are not seen in right way ,, i was working well with the script in btr1 but when i tried it with r2 it says to me
Unable to build the nvidia kernal module
knowing that my nvidia is "nVidia Corporation GT215 [GeForce GTS 350M]"
also i tried installing nvidia-driver after exiting x server and also same thing :S
now am working in fixvesa
but its not gd .. i need my nvidia for well performance and gd resolution
so any idea guys post it :D

I had the same problem. Launch Synaptic and then in quick search type "nvidia" in. You should see few results I don't remember the name of. Any way install the two packages with this pattern "xxx-core" and "xxx-qt". It works also for ATI. So if you have too many results with nvidia search try with ati. Packages are the same and support both.

Sorry, it worked for me !
You can try to use xrandr or xvidtune. But this gets a bit complex and you'll have to follow tutorials on Ubuntu forums. Google is your friend for that ;)

try : apt-get remove --purge nvidia-driver
then : dpkg --configure -a
then : apt-get install nvidia-driver while not logged into x

had similar problems if this works after install
do : apt-get install nvidia-driver while not logged into x again to make sure
it should say nividia-driver already newest version
if not you make need to do: dpkg --configure -a

your fix simple 1.download the nvidia-dev-driver from nvidia's website 2.reboot computer and install the dev-driver before you start your xserver.

lordplagueis: i tried it .. but same problem :) ,, btw i made update and not a fresh install for btr2
am gonna make fresh install and see what happens :)
