problem getting wireless drivers updated.
I was trying to get injection working with my rtl8187 wifi card and thought to update my compact wireless drivers here: Compat-wireless - BackTrack Linux but the 2nd wget link doesn't work and im wondering if there is an alternative link or if someone could fix it?
Re: problem getting wireless drivers updated.
If you are referring to the patches, you can get them from the aircrack official site.

Ya i already did that and a bunch of other drivers and tut's i found on google but i still cant get injections working. I even tried the backtrack disc that came with it but it still wont work. Any idea's?
Re: problem getting wireless drivers updated.
Well if you could give us more details in what do you mean by "can't get injection to work" maybe someone could help you.
Re: problem getting wireless drivers updated.
8187 is honestly not worth it.. You can get an RT73 chipset USB adapter on ebay for under $10 shipped...
Even if you get the 8187 working it won't be working well..
Re: problem getting wireless drivers updated.
I have a gsky usb that uses rtl8187 and injection works for me. How far are you from your AP? And this is your AP correct? The only problem that I had with getting rtl8187 chipset to work was kicking it, when the rfkill turned off the radio of the card. But in the wiki of backtrack there is a solution to do that. But once I got my rtl8187 off of hard block in the rfkill. I was able to injection properly. But What kind of dbm ant. are you using? I also know that when you are a certain distance, injection fails. I never measured how far but thats my findings. Oh also which brand of the rtl8187 chipset are you using?
