HELP: File association error. My .desktop files open with kate as default.
Hi !
I think i have just made a stupid thing: I wanted to create more shortcuts and i have made right click on some of them and choose 'open with' , i typed in Kate and i checked to be as default application which opens that kind of files. Now i can't create a new ftp connection because the shortcut is opened with kate. Everything is opened with kate because it opens now any .desktop file.
Help, how i can switch back to open .desktop files with what they should be opened ?
How to fix that problem ? :(
Thank you so much !
Re: HELP: File association error. My .desktop files open with kate as default.
Stop using the gui and open the .desktop files as they were meant to be, with a command line editor. Then this won't happen.
Also it would do you well, considering your posts today, to look at the if you are new to bt and or linux thread linked below.

I just told you and apparently you are not paying attention. So go back to my first post, that would be post number 2 and follow the advice there.
You repeating the same thing over again is not helping you at all.

There is not really a default command line editor. I mean by default in BT there is kate, nano, and vim.
All of which can serve as editors.
