Aircrack keys per second??

Hi there,
Just wondering what sort keys per second people are getting with aircrack, thought mine was fairly good till i read a bit about someone getting 120.000k/s??
Im getting 600keys per second, my pc is a 2.5ghz dual core processor, 4gig of ram and a 1 gig graphics card (if that makes a difference)
Be handy to know what sort of speeds other people are getting.

It all depends on your processor architecture and speed, cache, graphics card chip, cache. The whole gigaherz or gigabytes thing alone does not mean much. I would recommend listing your processor type, and if you use your graphics card when cracking (CUDA/Stream).

Definatley not using CUDA/stream so no graphics card usage, the processor is an AMD, ill have to have a closer look for the type

Hi,

Pentium IV 3000 mHz, 2 gig RAM, videocard:EAH4350 Silent(ati radeon) I was getting 300 words a second in windows with aircrack.
Then I start using XXXXXXXX Wireless Security Auditor, can't tell the name here, it is a commercial software. There is an option to make use of your, if compatible, videocard. Then I went up to about 1250 words a second.:cool:

You've only got a 3 Hz CPU? Holy crap that must be a pain in the ass :p

He's right actually, it should be M (MEGA), not m (mili) herz.

Still, back on topic. The pentium 4 isn't what you'd call.....efficient these days, the architectures have improved so much, you get much more "bang for your clock cycle" with current processors. Therefore, if we start comparing keys per second, I recommend you list the FULL processor type (not just P4 3 GHz), but also the type (because some types have less cache, features like Hyperthreading etc. etc.)

I was more asking for because i read a post on the fb backtrack forum's and there was a bloke there saying he gets 120000k/s!
Just wondering what kind of setup the guy has and just how he's done it. I used a 3 million word wordlist the other day and it took just over 2 hours to check them all, imagen if i had his spec pc???

Interesting you say about hyperthreading, iv got an older laptop running a pentium 4 2 ghz, that i thought about upgrading, sounds like it would be worth the extra of putting in a 3.2/3.4ghz with hyperthreading over putting a 3ghz without

i have the same problem what u have to do update aircrack
apt-get install aircrack-ng
it make my speed from 500 to 1100 not bad i dont have Ge-force ihave intel family chipset cuda down wrk with it
