Setting up Brother DCP-7040 (Printer/USB)
Hi everyone,
I'm new, I have been fooling with Ubuntu, phlak, knoppix, etc.
I was using Ubuntu on my laptop, and it worked great. But... I have moved to BT4R1.
I've been using it at work, and it's been working out great. I just got a new printer (Brother DCP-7040), and it seems to be recognized when I go to system>hardware>printer. It's connected by usb. It doesn't seem to print.
Can someone point me in the right direction as to how I can get this thing to work. I don't want to install a bunch of useless crap, and not have it work.
I'm searching, but have not come up with anything as of yet.
I'd really appreciate a nudge in the right direction.
Thanks in advace,
r.

Hello r03er7,

That's nice, but BackTrack isn't a general purpose distribution. So (IMHO) it cannot replace ubuntu (in this case) for daily necessities.

I'm sorry but BT doesn't support printers. For this reason you need a general purpose distro. ;)
