i noticed that with this release i'm able to find less Wi-fi network compared with the microsoft windows ( xp sp3 ) used on the same machine.
it seems that the wi-fi power range is less powerful than the windows one.
i've tryed bt4 r1 with 2 different laptops and i had same resoult ( windows range is better ).
is this caused by the beta version of tis release?
thx
Hi,
Sorry, I don´t speak English very well.
I didn´t boot Backtrack RC 1 from CD. I have 2 laptops.
"pci_root PNP0A08:00: address space collision: host bridge window [mem 0x000cc000-0x000cffff] conflicts with Video ROM [mem 0x000x0000-0x000cebff]
pci 0000:0a:00.0: no compatible bridge window for [mem 0xfffe0000-0xffffffff pref]"
I have pavilion dv4-2115br.
How a resolve this problem?
Thanks.
ÉNois,
in aireplay the chop chop attack don't work with the Atheros AR5001+ WLAN chip
I just did apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade which pulled in the latest bunch of updates, which included a newer version of the kernel open Vas stuff etc etc.
Now my webcam has stopped working, it used to be fine before the update.
The laptop is an ASUS EEEPC 1000HE, everything else seems to be fine, ie injection working etc etc.
lsusb shows the device is detected.
Have I missed something here?
my acer 4770 ethernet adapter can't work on bt4
and i've tried to update the kernel to the latest version (BT4 R1 Development)
but still cant work
my ethernet adapter is broadcom netlink bcm57780
since the kernel upgrade, the autoscan does not work normally.
One example is that my webcam is not more recognized with the new kernel 2.6.34, which was not the case with the previous kernel.
And my Broadcom 4322G 802.11 b/g/n WLAN module still not works !!!
Since I upgraded to r1 i can't load backtrack from my hdd, it freezes when the screen shows: b43-pci-bridge 0000:01:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16
Before the upgrade I could load perfectly, and if I boot from USB (using r1 version) I have no problems (well, sometimes it hangs after the "Press <ENTER> to see video modes availible, <SPACE> to continue, or wait 30 sec" but I think that's another matter). Using the live USB the wireless card works great (with airmon-ng it shows that it's loaded with b43 (phy0) driver)
I have an Acer Aspire One D250 using the Broadcom 4312. I've tried blacklisting b43 and ssb (I read it somewhere), but it doesn't work. Help!
Is this the right place to report this problem?
Thanks!
I've also had trouble with my Trackpad and USB mouse. They don't work after upgrading to 2.6.34. This is on a Late 2009 Macbook Pro.
Are there specific instructions on how to upgrade to BT4 Dev R1? What are they?
or
Is there an ISO that can be used. I would like to try out and provide feedback on DEV R1.
