Acer D250-1150 Netbook worked right out of the box
I am new to Linux and BackTrack and in the few months preceding have been learning a lot. I just bought a new Acer D-250 and it worked right out of the box. I still have yet to test but as far as I can tell at this point everything seems to be recognized and working as far as the video, wireless and ethernet. I haven't tested the webcam, mic, and all the smaller stuff but the important ones ie: wireless and vga, work! I have the Atheros 9285 wireless card and have had no issues.

Hope this helps anyone struggling with the issue of which netbook to buy for a cheap, simple out of the box experience.
Endnote:
I failed to metion that this netbook had no issues with the Live DVD and a full install onto the hd. I tried UNetbootin and it worked on a USB Flash drive, however, there were problems with detecting and setting up the network interfaces, drivers. The ath5k driver worked with little issues on the Atheros 9285(ath9k) card, and I am still researching and testing the others. Hope this clarifies things better.

Well I got around to the webcam. All I did was install Cheese and it worked flawlessly. I also did some tests using the wi-fi. Kismet, Gerix, Wireshark, the entire aircrack suite all seem to be working great. Injection works so it is safe to assume that this little netbook can pretty much handle all of the tools Backtrack 4 has to offer. I reinstalled windoze (for testing purposes) and managed to get it to triple boot Windoze, BT4 and Linux Mint 8 KDE, which I am using to post this/ I am using grub included w/ Mint to select from the 3 operating systems including the hidden partition to restore to factory defaults. If anyone has anything to add, please feel free. I am rather amazed at this little netbook and am happy it does pretty much everything I need it to do..
