problem injecting packets with compatible card
im using an intel 3945, ive done alot of searching but havnt found an answer that works; and i also end up on a lot of info that obviously isnt correct. i pass the injection test but cant do a chop chop or frag attack. the chop attack tells me it cant inject packets and gives me a bunch of possible reasons, the frag attack never gets a response and eventually ask to try another packet. this is after i associate my self with AP. there is no clients on the network
i start by putting wlan0 into monitor mode (airmon-ng start wlan0) then use airodump with mon0. when i get to aireplay i go back to wlan0, which i read is what your suppose to do, but still nothing. any help is apprecitated
nobody know? really? lol, i also cant catch a handshake when trying to hack wpa
Re: problem injecting packets with compatible card
I HAVE the same exact problem... i just installed the new backtrack 4 final and i tried it using from the LIVE CD, i didnt install it yet, when I use backtrack directly from the disc, packet injection actually works, but after installing backtrack on to my laptop... nothing packet injection doesnt work... ANYONE please help us out ;)
Re: problem injecting packets with compatible card
Same problem here with the 3945 card. Injection _seems_ to be working but no attacks are successful and no matter how many arp packets are reinjected using aireplay, the data packet count does not change.

you need to use mon0 with the aireplay-ng commands.
you may want to read the tutorials at aircrack-ng.org

I recommend to use gerix wifi cracker at beginning, its quite easy to use.
Maybe some of the reasons that chop chop attack gives, when failing is the answer. My guess is that you are too far away.

use wireshark to see your traffic
wpa_capture [Aircrack-ng]
Re: problem injecting packets with compatible card
As far as I know, Aircrack-ng website has mentioned that Linux OS with kernel 2.6.30.9 tends to fail when it comes to both Chopchop and fragmentation attack. I've failed both of them to do so, but it's no problem to simulate packet injection scenarios.
